Pibox iOS
Leading product design for Pibox, an all-in-one collaboration platform for the media and music industry. My role focuses on delivering high-fidelity UI/UX solutions while evolving into a strategic brand leadership position to ensure visual and narrative consistency across the entire product ecosystem – from the core platform to marketing assets.
Overview
This case study covers the redesign of the iOS app, rethinking the experience for mobile-first interactions and crafting a visual language that helps creative teams move fast and stay in sync.
Problem
As Pibox grew, it became clear that the mobile app wasn't keeping up with the product's ambitions. The interface was functional, but it felt like desktop logic squeezed onto a small screen – rather than an experience built for mobile from the ground up.
No native iOS foundation
The app relied on web-based patterns that didn't translate well to mobile – interactions felt heavy and gestures weren't intuitive for iOS users.
Weak visual hierarchy
Typography lacked clear scale and weight, making it difficult to distinguish primary content from secondary information at a glance.
Inconsistent UI language
Components, states, and visual patterns varied across screens with no unified design system holding them together.
Unclear UX flows
Navigation and key interactions like media review and commenting required more cognitive effort than they should.
Together, these issues created friction in the exact moments that matter most – when creative teams are trying to move fast and stay in sync.
Process
The redesign started from a full audit of the existing interface – identifying where desktop-first patterns were creating friction on mobile. From there, the work moved screen by screen, rebuilding core flows with native iOS logic in mind.
Collaboration & workflow
Worked closely with the developer in a tight loop – weekly calls to review progress, align on implementation details, and adjust direction based on what was technically feasible and what users actually needed.
What was redesigned
The scope covered the full app experience: onboarding and login flows including SSO, home screen with projects, groups and folders, chat with file attachments and audio messages, track screen with waveform commenting and range selection, file versioning and status management, shared links with permission controls, video file commenting, and account settings.
App Store delivery
Prepared all App Store assets alongside the redesign – screenshots, previews, and store copy – ensuring the public-facing presentation matched the quality of the product itself.
Key accomplishments
iOS App Store release & major update
Successfully led the end-to-end design process for the Pibox iOS application, managing the App Store launch and a major update focused on improving native performance, mobile UX, and interface stability.
Corporate website redesign
Spearheading the full redesign of the company's corporate website and new landing pages to better align marketing presence with product maturity.
Brand strategic oversight
Acting with a "Brand Director" mindset to synchronize product visuals with marketing materials (Google Ads, Social Media, PR), preventing brand dissonance during rapid scaling.
Invite users & onboarding
Designed a streamlined Sign-up/Log-in flow and a personalized onboarding questionnaire for Pibox to minimize friction and accelerate user activation. My focus was on creating a seamless, minimalist transition from registration to the core product experience.
